June holidays may affect your supply chain – plan ahead
Starting Thursday, 5 June, many countries will observe Eid al-Adha, an important public holiday in the Muslim world. Around the same time, bank holidays in Europe will also take place. These overlapping dates will temporarily impact logistics operations: reduced activity at suppliers, customs closures, unavailability of road transport, etc. Below, find the key dates to be aware of and some tips to be best prepared.
Eid al-adha: local closures in key supplier countries
During Eid al-Adha, factories, customs offices, and logistics providers will be closed for several days in Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, and in Asian countries such as India, Malaysia, and Singapore:
- Turkey: 5–9 June
- Tunisia: 6–7 June
- Morocco: 7–8 June
- India, Malaysia, Singapore: 7 June
We recommend confirming operating hours with your local suppliers and booking urgent shipments early, ahead of holidays. Air Time Critical® is available to assist with your most time-sensitive transport needs.
EU & Whit Monday: road transport capacity limited
On 9 June, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Romania will observe Whit Monday. Combined with Sunday driving bans, these public holidays will reduce road transport capacity in Europe.
