Our customers, particularly those in the motor industry, are focussing their activities on and around Europe. It is becoming increasingly advantageous for French and European car manufacturers and tier 1 automotive suppliers to source their supplies in the Maghreb, Morocco, and Tunisia. However, higher supply volumes from the Maghreb region inevitably generate a few supply chain emergencies.
Production delays, setbacks, quality defects, shipping delays… the causes are varied, but no-one can ever bet on a totally smooth supply chain. Thankfully Air Time Critical®’s door-to-door On Board Courier service allows you to quickly regain control of the situation by cutting delivery time frames by 2 or 3 compared to standard freight. The passenger ‘jumps’ with the goods onto the first available flight from Tunis, Casablanca or Tangier, and lands in Paris Orly or Paris CDG a few hours later. Once there, the courier goes through customs before delivering the goods.
Customs for On Board Courier
What happens at customs? With a low shipment value, the courier can clear customs by paying the rights and duties there and then. With a higher commercial value, ATC organises a proper customs clearance procedure with an approved forwarder at Roissy CDG before delivering the goods.
On Board Courier – a door-to-door delivery solution?
Air Time Critical® offers a door-to-door On Board Courier solution from pickup at the supplier’s to in-person delivery at the French or European consignee’s:
As soon as the customer confirms the order, Air Time Critical® organises pickup at the Moroccan or Tunisian consignor’s. We always ask for the contact details of a named person on site so we can check shipment details, availability of the ordered items, and goods provisioning time. Whenever possible, we request that the Moroccan or Tunisian supplier emails us a copy of the documents so we may pre-empt any possible problems (errors on documents)
Depending on distance, the courier can either jump on a taxi, a motorcycle taxi, or hire a car to deliver to the French consignee. For longer distances, an express taxi (dedicated van) assures the direct delivery of the parcel to the consignee. In all cases, delivery is done in person and a proof of delivery (POD) is issued. We then email a copy of the pdf delivery note to the customer to confirm delivery time.
On Board Courier Tunisia, Morocco, UAE
This On Board Courier solution, sometimes called hand-carry or OBC, is increasingly popular with industrialists for the urgent shipment of spare parts, prototypes, or commercial samples, between Morocco or Tunisia to France and the whole of Europe.
Air Time Critical® believes that this new partnership in Paris Orly will increase OBC responsiveness and quality by using couriers who speak the language of the departure country and can therefore facilitate parcel pickup with the Moroccan or Tunisian consignor.
This service has also been extended to the Middle East with On Board Courier deliveries to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The Middle East is a new addition to our existing express air freight services from Paris CDG and our air charters from Paris Le Bourget, Vatry, Châteauroux and Valenciennes airports.
